After winning at the Renfrew County Regional Science & Technology Fair in April, four of the participants in our regional fair participated in the Canada Wide Science Fair in Truro, Nova Scotia, in May, some coming home with awards.
Renfrew County added three more awards to it's credit at the recent Canada Wide Science Fair held in Truro, Nova Scotia. Roopa Suppiah won silver in the Automotive category and a bronze in the Earth & Environmental Sciences category. Justin Reardon won a Bronze in the Computer and Information Technology category.
Roopa is a student at Mackenzie High School in Deep River. Her project was entitled "Breathe Easy...C02 Can Be Green." Justin is a student at Bishop Smith Catholic High School. His project was entitled, "Managing the School Reindeer Hunt."
Kyle Joncas and Pia Dimayuga also represented Renfrew County in their first appearance at the national event. Kyle is a student at Cobden Public School and his project was entitled "Popsicle Stick Bridge." Pia is a student at St. Mary's. Her project was called, "Lightbulbs in the Flesh."
